While some Nigerian parents are not proud of teaching their kids how to speak their local dialects, Nigerian-American Hollywood actress Uzo Aduba  who is not living in Nigeria knows how to speak her local dialect, Igbo.

It is true that  some Nigerians who live outside the shores of Nigeria do not understand or speak their local language, yet the actress is speaking Igbo on  the Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

Uzo was born and bred in America but that has not stopped her from talking about her tribe.  Earlier this year, she had explained the meaning of her name  'Uzoamaka means 'The road is good'. Quick lesson: My tribe is Igbo, and you name your kid something that tells your history and hopefully predicts your future.' She said.

Uzo who is busy promoting the  new season of her series, Orange is the New Black, was asked by Colbert to talk about the series in Igbo and she didn't disappoint.  According to those who posted the video of her speaking  'Our very own Omalichá Ada,Uzo Aduba speaking our beautiful Asụsụ Igbo on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Nne, good effort..

Hopefully it'll encourage some of unu to take interest in learning and speaking our language, maka na Igbo Amaka! '
