Gambian president honors The Masquerade
Nigerian entertainment industry icon, Mr. Chika Okpala, popularly known as Zebrudaya, has recently been honored by Gambia president, Yahya Jammeh, alongside 17 others for their contribution in Nollywood.
In a recent interview with Punch, He called out our government to learn from such example and honor pioneers of the entertainment industry.
“But generally, I have not seen the Nigerian society being special to us, they don't even want to know that we exist,” he stressed.
The comic actor was part of the 80's series, The Masquerade. He went on saying, Masquerade is likely to grace our screens very soon, as plans are already made, but been delayed due to lack of sponsorship. N.T.A is said to be the channel that would air it, well we keep our fingers crossed and anticipate the re-birth of the program.
