Fela Never Forced Me Into Music---Femi Kuti
Afro-beat singer, Femi Anikulapo-Kuti, is a musician that has carved a niche for himself in the Nigerian music industry.
The well-travelled artiste took after his late father, Fela, who originated the Afro-beat genre of music.
But Femi says his late dad never forced him into music as some people may have been thinking.
Femi said, “My father did not influence me as such. I always knew I would go into music. It was just a question of how and when. He was, however, a big motivation in my life because every child wants to be like his or her father.”
The singer told Daily Independent that he cherished Fela and "wanted to do what he was doing but the only question hanging over that ambition was whether I could fulfill that ambition perfectly.”
