Following controversial crisis between the Deji of Akure, Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, and the leader of the Igbo community in Akure, Mr. Gregory Iloehike, the monarch has banned the title of 'Eze Ndi Igbo' in Akureland and ordered it to be reviewed as a means to oust the crisis.

It was learnt that the Akure monarch as at last week dethroned the Igbo leader on alleged gross misconduct against the traditional ruler at the palace during a meeting.

The traditional ruler has therefore ordered the Eze to apologise and tender a letter of apology to the monarch and the Deji-in-Council.

Oba Adelusi also directed that the Igbo leader should stop wearing any form of crown and must comply with all the directives of the palace.

As at time of filing up the report, Newstrack learnt that all shop belonging to Igbo people at the Moferere Market, Akure remained shut down.

But the Governor of the state, Dr Olusegun Mimiko while commenting on the crisis appealed to the traditional ruler to be calm with the issue and forgive the embattled igbo leader for peace and unity in the state.

The governor added that Igbo leader could not go against the tradition and custom of the land, as there was no basis or constitutional back up for such attitude. He therefore pleaded for peaceful co-existence.
