Lagbaja Is Never My Competitor---Femi Kuti
The just-concluded Felebration at the New African Shrine in Ikeja, Lagos has been described by many as one of the best in recent times. Most people also gave thumbs up to the organizers.
One of the organisers of the one-week long event, Femi Kuti, who is the son of the late Afrobeat legend being celebrated, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, disclosed that he tries to get “at least 5 hours sleep” before getting up to prepare for the next day.
While responding to question as to if he sees Lagbaja as a threat, Femi said the fellow musician is never a competitor to him.
Femi said he has been “friends forever" with Lagbaja, who he said they both "used to play together when he (Lagbaja) first started out.”
Femi noted that he and the singer still get along well, adding that Lagbaja is no threat to him as he (Femi) sees himself as a competitor rather than someone else. “We get on very well I make myself my competitor.”
