Nollywood Producers are After Quantity not Quality… Tony Goodman

Nollywood movie producer, Tony Goodman, in a recent chat with newsmen in Abuja, has disclosed that the Nigerian movie industry should not be a place where practitioners continue to chunk out what they like to the viewers.

According to Tony, producers no longer meet up with standards but are ready to compete with each other on whose movie will come out first just for the sake of the money and not quality.

He stressed that anyone who does not meet up with the requirement of becoming a producer should not be allowed to produce movies.

“Film making is professional business, and filmmakers must be grounded in the knowledge and the art of film making. If there is control, the quality of our films in terms of content and depth will be enhanced,” he said.

The producer also pointed out that Nollywood has been under serious criticism recently “in terms of production, quality control and professionalism,'” and as such, people were tired of seeing the same storyline.''
