Kidnappers Demand N100m From Sun Newspaper Deputy MD
Yesterday, we reported the abduction of wife of Mr Steve, the Deputy Managing Editor of The Sun Newspapers, Mrs Toyin.
The woman was kidnapped at their Okota home at about 2.30am on Sunday, September 13, 2015.
However, Lagos State Police Commissioner, Fatai Owoseni, said the gang that abducted the woman are robbers and that all is being done to apprehend them.
The police chief explained that the same gang was responsible for terrorizing Ago Palace residents in Okota area the state on Monday.
Although a suspected member of the kidnapping syndicated reportedly contacted the family, demanding N100m as ransom.
Owoseni allayed the fears of the worried family, saying the police would ensure the release of the journalist's wife, as well as the arrest of the robbery gang.
According to him, “The area is still an active crime scene. The police have been there and realised that the robbers gained entrance through an abandoned ladder."
