Ghanaian actress, Ella Mensah, has done well for herself since venturing into acting some years back. She has also received several awards for her hard work.

But despite her success in the movie world, Ella claims she is not close to her father because of some reasons. The actress said she never knew how wealthy her dad was until she turned 19.

Ella said though she stayed with her mother while growing up, she never lacked anything because her mother was there to provide for her needs.

According to her, this is why she can't do without communicating with her mother for a day unlike her father, who she can still not talk to for a month.

She told Sun newspaper that, “I didn't feel anything. I didn't feel he was absent because my mom played her role very well and it was beautiful.

“What I said was 'finally I have met you and I'm happy.' And that was it. We talk once in a while but I can't stay or do without talking to my mom every day but I can stay a whole month without talking to dad and I'm not bothered.

“I think that's because of how we started. However, I respect him and I love him too; I have my own kind of special love for him and appreciate him, but my mom is like my refuge.”
