Popular Comedian, Chuks D' General, was put under intense 'fire' recently after his joke on Nigerian old and legendary singers went rather too far. Chuks at the 2face Eargasm, while cracking his first joke for the night, said 2face Idibia was being humanitarian by trying to revive the dying 'voices' through his goodwill. He asserted that having failed to secure any viable platform to perform for years, artistes like Victor Uwaifo, Sunny Nneji, Olu Maintain and Daniel Wilson had been granted yet another opportunity to perform and to enjoy the moment of the night.

Chuks said, “If 2face can do this, then a time will come when correct comedians like me will stage a show to showcase old comedians like I Go Die, Basket Mouth, Akpororo and others.” This joke, however, did not go down well with the old artistes in the building, who confronted the comedian backstage. He was asked to tender an open apology for debasing musicians who are considered legends in the industry. 2face we learnt, asked the organiser of the event, Mallam Yankee, to stop the comedian from cracking further jokes.

The comedian, however, insisted on apologising to the artistes. He got on the stage after the confrontation, on his knees, pleading for forgiveness. In response, Daniel Wilson, in an acapel, made a caricature of the comedian. He said he was never angry and saw no reason why the comedian should apologise in the first place. However, Olu Maintain didn't take things easy with the comedian, as the Yahooze crooner discredited Chuks, saying his jokes were meaningless and debasing.

While singing his Yahoozee that kept the audience on their feet, Olu said Chuks was rather too pedestrian in his jokes. 2face who later 'tore' the comedian to 'pieces' said he did not check for facts. He said, “Some comedians can mal-yarn. Na wa for that comedian sef.

He has failed to understand that it's people like Sir Victor Uwaifo and Daniel Wilson that actually support my projects. I run to them for one problem or the other. I think that comedian was very wrong.” Chucks who coldly returned to the audience continued to receive the same lashes till the end of the show.
