Nollywood Wants Buyers Of Pirated Films Prosecuted
Last week, some practitioners in the movie industry stormed the Lagos State House of Assembly on the invitation of their colleague, Desmond Elliot, who is now a lawmaker in the Assembly. They were there to rub minds together on the issue of piracy that has almost wrecked the trade.
On the entourage were Ramsey Nouah, Osita Iheme, Chinedu Ikedieze, Kushimo Aina, Jide Kosoko, Fidelis Duker, Joseph Benjamin, Uti Nwachukwu and others.
They accused those in the popular Alaba Market in Lagos of promoting piracy and challenged the government to join in waging war against the menace.
The film practitioners suggested that there should be punishment for both the pirates and those who patronise them to help curb piracy.
