To many families in Nigeria, pregnancy out of wedlock is a big issue and not many families would be in support of it as they tend to criticize the lady involved.

There are many female celebrities who have had their own fair share of early pregnancy and are now living with it like a case of Nigerian singer, Waje, who got pregnant at the age of 18 and was neglected by many except her mother who stood by her all the way.

Waje speaking to Punch, stated that at that age, she never knew what she was doing as she was just an innocent girl who was just living her life.

Now proud of her 16 year old daughter, the singer noted that she now has a man in her life but feels sad sometimes when she recalls the way she was nicknamed when she pregnant.

“I will not lie to you, I didn't know anything. I was just a young girl. I was so naive and innocent. It wasn't easy in those days. I was laughed at. I was given a nickname. I will not tell you the nickname. But the truth is that I was scorned,” she said.
