The outgoing President of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, on Thursday, formally dissolved his cabinet after his selfless service to the country.

The dissolution took effect at Thursday midnight, according to Jonathan.

The President made this known after the presidential inauguration dinner held inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja, last night, May 28th, 2015.

After the dinner, Jonathan and his ministers proceeded to the Council Chambers tea room, where a toast was proposed in his honour by one of the cabinet members few minutes before 12am.

Meanwhile, at the inauguration ground on Friday in Abuja, President Jonathan's wife was absent.

Patience Jonathan has made rare appearances since the defeat of her husband at the March 28, 2015 presidential election, which produced Muhammadu Buhari as winner.
