I’m Glad Skales’ Music Career Didn’t Perish—Banky W
When the music world woke up to the news of the separation of fast-rising singer, Skales, from Empire Mates Entertainment (EME), which also had Wizkid, there were accusations and counter-accusations as to the reasons for the break up.
One of the music label's executives, Bankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, had claimed then that Skales was ejected from EME because he did not meet up with expectations. He had also explained that this was why his contract with the label was not renewed.
However, Skales moved on with his life and landed a record deal with Baseline Records, which also has Howie T as an executive. Over the weekend, the former EME boy launched his 'Man of the Year' album and his former boss expressed gratitude to God for making it possible for him (Skales) to finally have an album of his own.
Banky W said he was “proud to have played a small part in building” Skales' “foundation,” adding that the singer had “jumped off the ship” but “instead of sinking or swimming”, he (Skales) “flew.”
