Over the weekend, some filmmakers showered praises on showbiz personality and Senator-elect, Ben Murray-Bruce.

The Silverbird Group Chairman was given a recognition award in the US by Nollywood Producers Guild in the Uncle Sam country.

Presenting him the award, Pascal Atuma, Publicity Secretary of the Guild, described Murray-Bruce as an important figure, who has helped in the growth of the entertainment industry in Africa, Nigeria in particular.

The Senator-elect was in America for his son, Jared's graduation. Jared graduated from Loyola Marymount University, where he obtained a B.A. in Communications. He later threw a pool party for the young man on Saturday at Beverly Hills in California, USA.

Murray-Bruce was made the honorary lifetime member of the Guild for his contribution to the growth of Nollywood and cinema in Africa.
