Why Yinka Ayefele, Sammie Okposo Don’t See Eye-To-Eye
The recently concluded 2015 general elections revealed some things about Nigerians. In fact, because of politics, friends of many years became enemies.
While some folks pitched their tents with the PDP and its presidential candidate, President Goodluck Jonathan, others were with the APC and its candidate, Muhammadu Buhari.
Entertainers were also not left out and most of them who aligned themselves with the two different candidates were on each other.
But one interesting that occurred was between two top gospel acts in Nigeria, Yinka Ayefele and Sammie Okposo, who were supporting the same candidate, President Jonathan.
An incident happened in Abuja, which have now made them not to see eye-to-eye again.
Their bitter rivalry started on November 11, 2014, during President Goodluck Jonathan's declaration ceremony at the Eagles Square, Abuja where both musicians were billed to perform until the duo displayed a show of shame in presence of the large crowd present at the rally.
It was reported that the ugly scene played itself out when some of Jonathan's aides had already informed Ayefele of the president's choice of song, which the singer quickly rehearsed with his band boys backstage but unknown to him, Okposo had also got wind of the development.

When Ayefele was called to perform for the President before his speech, then the clash of the titans ensued as both singers began to play same song and to quell the embarrassment, some PDP chieftains at the function told the two singers to stop singing and allow the President make his speech.
Since the ugly incident, Ayefele and Okposo have reportedly not greeted each other when they meet at events.
