Why Many Nigerians Don’t Know Me—Bunmi Davies

Afrotainment Productions boss and organiser of popular comedy show in Lagos, 'Stand Up Nigeria,' Bunmi Davies, has explained that he intentionally decided not to be a public figure like most entertainers.

Davies pointed out that most showbiz personalities find it difficult to move around in public and do other things without being mobbed because they are well known by the people. He said being a behind-the-scene man has paid off.

The young entrepreneur stated that it is important to have a private life without being harassed on the streets.

“It is deliberate; it is a strategy that has worked for me from day one. I do things that ordinarily people in entertainment will not do. I am not an entertainer; I am in the business of entertainment. I still fly bikes.

“So there are some things I just still do. If I am a public face, I cannot do that. I want to be in a position to be myself. I need my own private space once in a while, taking a stroll to buy 'suya' at a 'suya' joint without anyone harassing you, so it can be achieved if you keep your face and let your work speak,” he told City people.
