Davido Splits South African Music Group, Uhuru?
There are speculations in South Africa that a popular music group in the country, Uhuru, is undergoing a crisis that may not augur well with some of their fans.
This follows a video recently shot by a Nigerian pop star, Davido, in which only a member of the group was available for the shoot.
Davido is an artiste known for his energetic and dance along singles, which have brought him international recognition, awards and fans.
Davido was to shoot a video in Dubai with the group and DJ Buckz for the song entitled 'The Sound', but only Maphorisa was present as other members; Xelimpilo, DJ Clap and Mapiano were all left out. This has made some South African observers to ask why the division-cum-absence.
A South African newspaper, Sunday World revealed that the group had been initially proposed to be on the video. But sources close to the group claimed Maphorisa is bigger than the group.
“There's been a rift between them because Maphorisa thinks he's bigger than the group. He is so busy with collaborations and producing with other African artists,” Sunday World reported.
Maphorisa had missed out the Glo-CAF Awards in Nigeria to shoot the video and has been labelled as bossy.
