When it comes to the movie industry in Nigeria, it is believed that their marriages do not last long, but practitioners in the industry have repeatedly argued that theirs is not peculiar only that people get to know about their marriages because of their celebrity statuses.

Speaking with Nollywoodgists.com in an interview, Funky Mallam explained that his marriage of three years crashed after his former wife suddenly became jealous. He added that the marriage hit the rock because they not compatible.

He said the woman could not understand that his job could make him travel anytime.

"What led to my divorce was the problem of incompatibility. I was married for three years and we had a son," he told Nollywoodgists.com.

He added that marriages don't crash only in Nollywood as some people think.

"I don't think it is only in Nollywood, sometimes, it is from the men and sometimes from the women. In my own case, I can't vouch for anyone. My case was that I married a woman who happened to know my profession and all of a sudden, became overwhelmed and got jealous of everything I do.

“She goes through my phones and calls people to insult them. She told me if she had better understanding that acting was what I do in life, that she wouldn't have gone into the marriage with me," he said.

Sharing his own experience about marriage life, he advised singles, who are planning to get married, to look carefully before going into it.
