I Once Nearly Killed My Son—Toyin Lawani Confesses
Nigerian fashion star, Toyin Lawani, who is famous for making celebrities look fabulous on the red carpets, said she has been faced with criticisms that almost made her take bad actions.
It is no more news that she gave birth to a baby boy for her lover, who she is older than.
In one of her recent posts, Toyin confessed that when she was pregnant with the baby boy, she almost got rid of the pregnancy fearing what people would say getting pregnant for a younger lover.
Toyin, who had a daughter from her previous relationship, confessed that she no more cares about what people think about her.
“Remember when I got pregnant, I was so scared to let the world know. No one had a clue until they saw me on the runway at Africa Fashion Week in London. I was almost eight months then. I used to worry a lot about what people would say if I had a baby for someone younger, but my boo would beg me endlessly and say, 'my love, care not, I'm by your side'.
“His parents were so amazing and supportive. I was so shocked because I didn't expect that kind of love and support, I almost didn't want to go through with it, but severally I would change my mind.
I will sit in the hospital thinking endlessly 'should I or should I not' and my doctor will say, 'Toyin, it's just nine months and a positive voice constantly kept telling me, 'my love, when you meet this bundle of joy in your stomach, you will not care. And a lot of negative voices kept begging me to take it out that it was a bad idea.
“Well, imagine if I had listened to the world or if I was too scared to carry on cause of what people will say, I would have missed out on this beautiful blessing. My son is the most handsome boy I've ever seen and so is my beautiful daughter.
“Happy Sunday you all, don't let voices of others make you kill your blessings. Believe in yourself, and ask God for help because he is the only man than can get you there. Too many 'kill joy' in this so called Nigeria, but I'm sorry to burst your bubble, I don't give a sh*t about what the society think.
“I came to this world alone and I will be going alone. Live your life to the fullest because one day you, will look back and realize you missed out on all the things you could have done for yourself just because you cared too much about what the society would say or think about you.
“Anytime I feel down, I look at my kids and all I do is smile went through.
“Even my so-called best friend told me ah Toyin, if you leave your ex, you will suffer oo and I told her hey dear don't forget I have my talent and handwork, I will just suffer for a while, I thank God that I don't look like what I've been through. I thank God for his continuous blessings on my life and family,” she narrated.
