It was a sad weekend last week when the news broke that popular Lagos socialite, Iyalode Adunni Bankole who is better known as Iya rere by some of her followers has been confirmed dead on her Daughter's wedding day after being in a coma for 5-days.

Although the daughter, Mopelola, was destabilized for a while, she had to eventually continue with the wedding, but with mixed feelings.

Iya Adunni Bankole, 55, was the ex-wife of Chief Alani Bankole, a top Ogun State politician and father of Hon. Dimeji Bankole, the former Speaker, Federal House of Representatives.

Confirming her painful exit, Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo had described her as a woman who believed in her and her foundation – Pinkies.

'You (Adunni Bankole) were a great mother to many & most especially to me. When others did not believe in my foundation u where one of those who did, u constantly supported The Pinkies Foundation with donations & prayers, when I needed ur home u opened ur door wide enough for me n my crew feeding & encouraging us all, mama like I always use to call u, u re a great woman n u will forever be missed! It's so so sad that death took u away so soon but u will 4ever live in our hearts', she wrote.
