I Was Rejected in the Industry……..Singer, Sunny Nneji

Veteran Nigerian highlife singer, Sunny Nneji, has called on youths to realize the calling upon them as far as music is concern for them to be able to make headway in the industry and in other endeavours.

The singer who gave this hint during the popular LTV show, 'Gbarada,' revealed that getting to where he is today was not easy as several doors were shut behind him while he was trying to release his songs.

“Doors will be shut to you. There are people who will tell you that 'we are not feeling this thing you are doing, you should be doing something else' you should realize the calling upon your life. When you realize it, the shut doors will only do one thing for you 'they will only help to strengthen you and make you result to getting better and improve. So it is supposed to be seen as a training 'no pain, no gain' that is the pain when a door is shut before you. They are trying to tell you that you should go and work harder. So you see every shut door as a challenge,” he urged.

He pointed that when he came into the industry, he was not accepted because of his style of music which was not trending compared to the Reggae music which was a hit as of the time.

Sunny disclosed that his record label then EMI records, did not push his first song because they were more interested in Reggae music and had to stay focus since he knew what he wanted.© 2014Nollywoodgists.com
