It is now a general knowledge that popular singer, Gift Iyumame Eke, aka Muma Gee, wife of Nollywood actor, Prince Eke, has declared her intention to join politics, but not many know the real reasons she suddenly took such decision.

Come 2015, Muma Gee will be running for Federal House of Representative in Abua/Odua and Ahoada East LGA of Rivers State under People's Democratic Party (PDP).

At a press conference held on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, in Ikeja, Lagos, the experienced singer revealed that she actually relocated from Lagos to her state of origin few years ago in other to serve her people better.

"I went back to my motherland from Lagos, long time ago because I have had this intention to come closer to my people and make their lives better. My decision to join politics now is as a result of the need to salvage my people from abject poverty, unemployment, and neglect.

“The youths of my clan actually stormed my house one fateful morning pleading that I come rescue them from the hands of the people in charge now in the grass root level. They made lots of complaints and I gave them listening ears. They ended up convincing me to take up the challenge to help them fight for their rights.”

“I'm here because my people want me to, not by my own power. I have also brought to the table 3-E point agendas; Employment, Education and Entrepreneurship. Because I have the support of my people, I believe there are better chances of attaining this goal together with my team,” she squealed.
