The name Amaka may not ring a bell like those of Sammie Okposo, Midnight Crew, Wole Oni or Eben, but this talented budding gospel artiste has everything to make her a successful singer in Nigeria.

Amaka, managed by Wole Oni, a respected gospel music producer, is eying the top, especially as she is with a master of the game, Wole Oni.

In a chat with Nollywoodgists.com, she disclosed that apart from Wole Oni, who is her mentor, Omawumi is another act she admires a lot.

When asked why she admires a secular artiste when she (Amaka) is a gospel singer, she replied, “she is gifted and knows what she is doing. It doesn't really matter if she is doing secular, while I am doing gospel. I like her a lot.”

Amaka also disclosed that she has been in the industry for 10 years and revealed that her album is likely to hit the market in few weeks' time.

When asked if she could go secular, Amaka said, “I do songs that inspire people.”

“Financing is the major issue affecting gospel music in Nigeria. Most corporate bodies do not want to be associated with gospel music,” she said, when she was asked about the challenges being faced by gospel music in Nigeria.

Amaka, who is still unmarried, but is not searching, noted that Nigerians are now getting more interested in gospel music, adding that she hopes to be where God wants her to be in the next five years.
