A novelty football match played between comedians and On Air Personalities ended in a defeat for the humour merchants.

The game, packaged by 3ra'fique Communications, a wholly independent Marketing Communications organization based in Lagos, was tagged 'Join the Cast' and aimed at leveraging on the appeal of soccer to deliver malaria prevention messages whilst mobilizing communities against the disease.

The match took place on Sunday, 18th of May, 2014 at the Campus Mini Stadium, Lagos, with the theme 'Invest In The Future: Defeat Malaria.'

Fielded for Team Comedians were Bovi, Shakara, MC Bishop, MC Prince, Princess, Ogbolor, O'tega, Oluwa Bimz and many more, while the likes of Yaw, Colin Udoh, Frank Edoho, Femi and the Gang, D.O.2D.T.U.N, Sensei Uche, Jimmie, Nedu, Niran and others played for the Team On-Air Personalities.

The football match ended 3-1 in favour of broadcast journalists.

Before the game, members of the public were tested for free and given free malaria drugs at the Silverbird Galleria, Victoria Island, Lagos.
