Piracy: Govt Should Be Held Responsible--African China
Dancehall artiste, African China, has blown hot on the Nigerian government, accusing the government of not helping the entertainment industry because it (the government) is itself corrupt.
According to the artiste, the first music pirate caught in Nigeria was never prosecuted and till date, no one knew what later transpired.
“Our government is corrupt. I remembered the first music pirate they caught, a foreigner, they asked us to come and sign so that the guy could be arraigned. Till today, we have not heard nor ever seen the guy again.”
He added that the artistes should also be blamed because they release too many songs into the market without allowing the previous release to have a good balance.
“Artistes also should be blamed for releasing too many songs into the market within a year. Aside that, they will now pay the Alaba guys to put their songs on mix tap; that's piracy and it is bad.”
