Alleged Fraud: Sanyeri Accused Of Duping Guests

Popular Yoruba comic actor, Olaniyi Afonja, well known as Sanyeri has been accused of fraudulently raking millions of naira from some of his fans through his December 1, 2013 wedding ceremony.

As reported, the comic actor was said to have sold some alleged low-quality ankara fabrics known as 'aso ebi, for N20,000. The market price for the clothing material was put at N2,500. Sanyeri reportedly ordered that the 'aso ebi' would serve as gate pass to his wedding, which was held at Anchor Event Centre, Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos.

Those willing to attend the wedding were asked to pay directly into the actor's account before getting their fabric material. This made it impossible for them to reject or return the alleged bad quality ankara after making the payment.

Also, it was reported that those at the wedding were disappointed at what they saw at the event as there was no justification for paying such an amount to get the 'aso ebi'.

Meanwhile, Nollywoodgists.com made efforts to get the reaction of Sanyeri, but his phone number remained switched off as at the time of publishing this report.

Sanyeri and his wife had been living together for eight years before their marriage yesterday. They have two children together.
