Why TIME Magazine Named Omosexy As one of World’s 100 Most Influential People
Few days ago, one of Nollywood's sexiest actresses, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, fondly called Omosexy, was named by respected American journal, TIME Magazine as one of world's 100 most influential people.
This became a feat achieved by the Nigerian movie icon as she is the first Nigerian celeb to be so named. The news was well received by many Nigerians, who lauded the feat by Omosexy.
Not only did it established the fact that Omotola has become a global brand, it also attests to the fact that despite the bad image Nigeria earned by the activities of its corrupt leaders and some dubious citizens, there are still few individuals that are portraying Nigeria as a great country.
According to our findings, Omotola made the list because of her exemplary works as an activist. Just few years ago, she staged a protest against Shell Petroleum's environmental degradation in the Niger-Delta region where she comes from.
Also, Omotola has taken her trade internationally. Though she joined the music long time ago, but she became the first contemporary actress to do a duet with an international artiste.
This was when she hit the studio with, an R&B artiste; 'American Valentino.' This shot Omotola into another international world as a musician.
She has been outside Nigeria for most part of the year to receive different international awards.
Just last week, she travelled to the US for the dinner organized by TIME Magazine for the 100 Most Influential People in The World. The event had the high and mighty of the world in attendance. There is no doubt that this feat will further shoot Omotola's growing brand higher.
