By ALONGE MICHAEL

History was made last Friday when the executive governor of Ibadan, Oyo State, Otumba (Dr.) Alao Christopher Akala commissioned the over N40 million Naira science laboratory complex the boss of Chemstar Manufacturing Industry, makers of Finecoat Paints, Apostle Aderemi Awode built for the Ibadan Polytechnic science students. The event which coincided with the school's graduation day had the amiable and easy going dude, Remi honoured as an Associate Fellow of the citadel of higher learning.

Governor Akala who stormed the place with his entourage and heavy security commended the philanthropist nature of Remi and advised other eminent personalities and old students of the school to emulate him.

The day which will forever remain historical in the life of Remi and the entire school authority also had other meaningful sons and daughters of the soil in attendance.

When the school orator was reading his citation, the whole graduating students, lecturers and special guests couldn't hold back the emotion as they were all clapping and appreciating the good nature of the man of God.

Shortly after the regalia had been worn to him by the commissioner for Education in Oyo State, a luncheon was organized in honour of Remi by the school rector at his lodge tucked inside the campus.

Same night, Chemstar Group led by Fola, one of the resourceful hands at the Chemstar Group organized another cocktail party for their boss whose honour had been bestowed upon.

Saying the entire guests had a swell time is an understatement as every guest had a memorable event of their lives.
