First Bank Manager In Prison For Robbing Bank
A bank manager with First Bank Nigeria Plc at Illasa-Ekiti in Ikole local government area of Ekiti State, Ayodele Asaba, has been remanded in prison for allegedly having a hand in the robbery operation that took place in the bank in 2012.
Asaba was dragged before an Ado-Ekiti Magistrates' Court along with four other suspects; Akeem Ahmed, Dele Ajayi, Banji Adedayo, and Tajudeen Salawu, on Tuesday.
They allegedly committed the crime on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at the Ilasa-Ekiti branch of First Bank and carted away with N7.833 million.
The bank manager's lawyer appealed for a bail for his client but the judge, Magistrate Adefunke Ajibade, ordered that the bank manager and the other accused persons be remanded in Ado-Ekiti prison.
She then adjourned the case to April 10 for further hearing.
