It was just a sunny day, in an open field like one made for a political campaign. And the atmosphere was warm as group from different places and organizations, music makers and masquerades of all kinds, clergies and community leaders, friends and colleagues were all set and in attendance to say final farewell to late Nollywood veteran actor, Peter Nnedu Eneh, otherwise known as Pete Eneh.

The small and smooth road which leads to his country home, in Amofia Ibuzor Amokwe Udi L.G.A of Enugu State, could attest to the presence of guests and colleagues of the late veteran actor, as all roads led to his place.

The superlative, but mourning event was fired –up by awe-inspiring performers who reeled out their best to keep the guests spellbound to the event. Ugochukwu Favour-Mayor, who was in Enugu, gives detail of it:

The burial as an AGN affair

If you call the gathering an Actor's Guild of Nigeria affair, you are not misinterpreting, as the late actor held principal positions for the guild while alive. In his resume, he was the Executive Chairman of the guild from 2001-2008 with membership number of 001. Also, he was the National vice chairman, AGN South-east in 2009.

Pete Eneh as a true Christian

Indeed, late Eneh was a good Christian to the core. Not minding that one of his sons in a tribute described him as a Christian who abhorred idolatry and fetish practices of any kind, but fervently, it came to fruition as numerous clergy men of God all gathered in their numbers and attire to wish him final farewell.

How his colleagues eulogized him

His iconic contributions to the development of the motion picture industry in Nigeria will forever remain indelible in our hearts. He was a dedicated member of our Guild.
How Mama G opened the venue

At a point many got disappointed with the poor turnout of Nollywood stars at the burial day, not minding that they all first ignited at the two wake-keeps held at his Enugu main town and country home houses. At exactly 2: 57 PM, the place got vibrated with cheers, many were jumping to catch a glimpse, and the outcome was the arrival of Nollywood star actress, Patience Ozokwor popularly known as Mama G. As usual, the place couldn't contain her, as she was seen walking about to greet her ardent fans and movie-buffs.
Osuofia as King of Masquerade

The day also unveiled Nkem Owoh's fan base, as he stormed the venue with fitted dance steps of music makers who followed him in. Also at exactly 3:07 PM he entered, many reiterated their comments on him as being a typical Igbo man with great love for traditional affairs. Indeed, Osuofia as he is better known by his fans is the King of Masquerade
Chinwetalu Agu's calmness

What many did not understand was Chinwetalu Agu's calmness, as he seated quietly at a reserved canopy. Even when the service ended at the open field, he was still seen being totally tranquilized unlike what his screen character used to be. To sum it all, he presented himself as someone who was tru>ly mourning, even from the way he entered the venue.
Ibinabo Fiberesima

Pete, we did not lose you, but surely you are God's own savings account. We will not forget your contributions towards the building of the Guild of Actors in this noble state where you served as head. We also acknowledged your efforts in building peace and enabling environment for thespians under your jurisdiction. But for sure daddy, we shall meet to part no more. Adieu!
John Ikechukwu Okafor (Mr. Ibu)

Oh death! How I wished you know what you have done to millions of Nigerians and the world at large by snatching one of us. When I heard the sad news, I asked why soon? I wished it were not true, or only a mere rumour. But hence I was wrong. Even at that, he is still victorious because his good works will forever live in the memories of his fans all over the world.
Rita Tony Edochie

The Nollywood family has lost another good performer. He could be described as one who occupied a ringside position in acting and writing. He was an inspiring writer of many novels. It's sad to lose such a volume of intellect at this unholy hour of Nollywood's search for a way out of its doldrums. May his talents present a good report card before God Almighty.
Kanayo O. Kanayo

He was an inspiration to so many of us who happened to find ourselves in the film industry. He was a father and a mentor; he was one of the pioneers of acting who paved way for us. Nollywood and entertainment industry at large will miss him so much.
Pete Edochie

Uncle Pete, you fought death gallantly. You won because you did not die, but simply passed onto transition. I remember the movie we shot together by Amaco Investment. In Old School, you were my husband, Eddie Okwem-Eddie bomboy, the great movie that gave me the name: Mama G (G for General). But today, here lies the man, asleep and waiting to wake up from this eternal rest on the resurrection day. You were our forerunner. We all shall meet someday to part no more. Adieu Uncle. Adieu my mentor.
Patience Ozokwor (Mama G)

If actually you know him, you will pray for God to make him live forever not minding that death is inevitable, because he was a pacifist. He just gave everything for the betterment of the industry, and I pray God will accept his soul.
Charles Awurum

So, we could be deprived of these sterling qualities of yours in a swoop? Death! It is unfair that the story of the man has weathered the storm through thick and thin in Actors' Guild of Nigeria could end so abruptly. You were a celebrity here on earth, the celebration continues in the company of the saints in heaven, through infinite and divine mercy of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.
Chinwe Owoh

During his lifetime, he contributed immensely to the sustenance and success of NTA Television Drama series, “The New Masquerade.” As a member of the consortium of the scripting squad, he was very inspiring and motivating to his colleagues.

Stan K Amandi's future ambition being grounded

Enugu born actor and present Chairman of the Actor's of Guild of Nigeria, Enugu chapter, Stan K Amandi's ambition to contest for another higher position in the Guild's future elections seems to have been grounded, as many members of the guild from outside State laid complaints on how he shunned them. Furthering also that he refused to take greetings them, and to also make provision for them on a comfortable place to seat.

Die-Wait Ikpechukwu being the discourse of the day

Meanwhile, Die-wait Ikpechukwu played a good role, which many thought Stan K failed to have played. Ikpechukwu played the humble one, not minding that everyone credited it to be the good relationship he enjoyed with the deceased while alive. However, that did not put an end to Ikpechukwu as being the discourse of the day. Another one emerged when a picture was cited in the brochure, where late Sam Loco was seen standing before Eneh, then followed was Ipkechukwu. His attention was called to it, as many jokingly said, “Who knows if he will be the next?”

Ken Erics

As a father, he encouraged us all to be better people. Even as a fast and emerging actress, he gave me good advises that shaped my style and life. I pray that the Almighty God in His infinite mercy would accept his soul, which I know He will. As we pray for the repose of His soul, we should also pray that God will give the family he left behind the fortitude to bear this loss

Diamond Adaeze Igwe

I handed over to Pete Eneh as the Chairman of the Actors' Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Enugu State, and we were good friends. Pete was a good man and always wanted to please all. He never liked trouble and was a peacemaker. Well, we will all die someday, but my prayer is that his gentle soul should rest in the bossom of the Lord.

Die-Wait Ikpechukwu

Peter had a pleasant sense of humour, which he expressed in fluent communicative English. He had a small circle of friends and I'm glad to have been part of it. Adieu, my good friend!

Ikechukwu Ezenagu

Unemadu as I called you, you came, you saw and you conquered. As you depart this painful and shaky world, I take solace in the fact that you are resting in the bossom of our Lord, till we meet to part no more.
