It is no longer news that top actor Emeka Ike,who became embittered after inauguration of former President of Actors' Guild of Nigeria(AGN), Mr. Segun Arinze 2 years back, took him to court over who was the legal leader of the guild.

It is also not news that in the past three years,Emeka Ike did not relent in his legal battle to remove Mr. Arinze from AGN's top office.

He not only stood as a factional leader of the guild but also claimed to be the legal leader.

He engaged in incessant legal battles with Mr. Arinze as he presented numerous court orders to booth him out.

Mr Ike's last challenge came on April 27,2012 when AGN delegates were gathered at Benin to elect a new national exco, the dark skin actor who refused to give up,had written a strong letter to the Governor of Edo State,Comrade Adams Oshiomole, asking him to prevent the election in his state as it was according to him,in violation of a subsisting court order.

Although the Governor did not act on his letter,Mr. Ike was in jubilation when it was learnt that the Benin election had ended in a fiasco. He had allegedly told his followers that he will throw Mr. Arinze out before three months when another election is billed to be conducted.

Unfortunately for him,Mr. Arinze resigned his position as president, and the Board of Trustees has decided on a caretaker committee that will conduct another election.

This recent development has led loyal members of Emeka Ike's camp to wonder what will happen next,as the embattled president has finally left office.

Although it is not clear if Mr. Ike will continue his court case, those who are following activities of AGN judiciously revealed that his legal battle should be considered dead as his defendant,Mr. Arinze has resigned and moved on with other things.

Meanwhile, others who are conversant with the letters of the law saqy the case is still alive because the other defendant,Board of Trustees were still on seat.

Whether Emeka will win his case before the Caretaker Committee conducts election in three months time, remains to be seen.
