NOLLYWOOD RELEASES 664 MOVIES IN SIX MONTH
The Nigeria film industry, a.k.a. Nollywood, produced 664 movies in the first half of this year, according to a document.
The document, which contained a list of approved movies, was released on July 25 in Abuja by the Nigerian Film and Videos Censors Board (NFVCB).
Yoruba movies topped the chart with 299 movies, followed by English movies with 265 movies.
According to the document, 75 movies were produced in Hausa, 24 in Bini and one in Efik
It was also gathered that 2,000 movies were released last year, with many of them criticized for poor quality.
