9ICE REUNITES WITH ID CABASA, LORD OF AJASA, OTHERS
It was all smiles at the African Bar, Oriental Hotel, venue of this week's Industry Nite which hosted Alapomeji Records boss 9ice as he reunited with long-time friends and crew mates ID Cabasa, Lord of Ajasa and others.
9ice who used the opportunity to celebrate his birthday was seen discussing and sharing jokes with long-time friend, collaborator and producer ID Cabasa in one of the backstage rooms. Cabasa who heads CODED Tunes played a major part in producing 9ice's first two albums – 'Certificate' and 'Gongo Aso'.
After 'Gongo Aso' was released 2008, Cabasa gradually played lesser roles in 9ice's music and eventually became a guest producer on subsequent albums 'Tradition' and 'Versus'. Reports say 9ice also alienated himself from former CODED Tunes allies including 2Phat.
At Industry Nite on Wednesday January 18, 9ice also met up with long-time friends such as rapper Lord of Ajasa and pop act Jah Bless and even called both artistes on stage to perform 'Le fenu so' and 'Pass me the ganja' respectively.
Other acts that performed at the event are Alapomeji acts Seriki and Snow, as well as ex-Alapomeji acts Ajayi Brothers. Others are Tiwa Savage, Vector, DJ Jimmy JATT, JJC, Coded Tunes rapper oLamide, Dammy Krane and others. Popular faces that attended include Mo'Hits boss Don Jazzy, Dr SID, Terry G, Modenine, Sexy Steel and others
