Though the Comrade Governor of Edo State,Adams Oshiomole has continued to tell the public that there is no crisis between him and his deputy,Dr. Pius Odubu,investigations have revealed that there is a cold war brewing between the governor and his deputy.

It was learnt that the Governor and Deputy Governor of Edo State formally blew up recently when the Governor was said to have travelled to America during the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the creation of Edo State and instead of the Governor delegating the Deputy Governor to deputise for him,he (the Governor) directed the Secretary to the State Government,Dr. Simeon Inaokemhe to represent him (the Governor).

The people of the state were very shocked when the Deputy was absent from the dinner party at the Government House to mark the 20th Anniversary celebration.Instead of the Deputy Governor,the Secretary to the State Government also represented the Governor,a situation that has set tongues wagging.

In the entire Government House and beyond,it is no longer a secret that the Governor and his Deputy are shadow-boxing.

Further investigations revealed that the sharp differences between the duo may not be unconnected with the alleged decision of the Governor to dump the Deputy in the 2012 gubernatorial elections,and replace him with Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamel, a former Secretary to Government in ex-Governor Lucky Igbinedion's administration.

It was gathered that Governor Oshiomole is under pressure to dump his Deputy for Pastor Ize-Iyamu and this has divided the Action Congress of Nigeria(ACN) with Governor Oshiomole leading one faction and his deputy leading the other.
