Michael Ama a.k.a. Mba5 came into the Abuja music scene sometime in 2008 when he released two singles, Ota Koni Grow and Paribotoriboto. Produced by the popular badboy producer, Mekoyo, the songs were tight and had the prospect of become chart busting songs, but due to poor promotion and management the songs could not make the expected break.

The latest about the artiste is that he has abandoned his wife.

Trouble started sometime between July and August 2010, when the wife he married by customary law and custom, and solemnised in the church over two years ago took ill. One thing led to the other and the sight of the pretty wife began to fail gradually until she could barely see. All this while, Mba5 was with the wife, taking her from one hospital to the other, and from one church after another all to no avail.

She was then advised to seek specialised medical attention in the UK; an advice which she promptly obliged. She eventually travelled to the London to seek medical attention, but unfortunately, her sight did not get better. Upon her return from London, and upon his discovery that she had lost her sight, the Mbaise born artiste from Imo state quietly gathered his belongings and left the woman alone in their Mbora Estate home, airport Junction, Abuja.

Mba5 was said to have left three days after his wife returned, completely shattering all hope and breaking her heart. All these happened in the days leading up to the Easter celebrations this year.

According to a cousin of the woman who gave his name simply as Valentine, “my elder cousin virtually took care of all his needs. She sponsored his music project like every other thing he did, but all he has to pay her back in this time of need is to abandon her to her fate,”

Right now, the lady has been left alone for about five months now, in the two-bedroom apartment they rented at the Mbora Estate. She is left at the mercy of neighbours and relatives.

Quite unfortunate!
