I Left Nollywood For My Children – Bukky Wright Opens Up
Veteran Nollywood actress Bukky Wright has opened up about her decision to leave Nigeria and the movie industry years ago, citing her children as the primary reason.
Speaking in an interview with Morayo Afolabi Brown, she explained that she would make the same choice again if necessary and apologized to her fans for leaving without notice.
The actress also spoke about her return to the screen with her cinema movie, Omatara Johnson, which she said was inspired by requests from her fans. She revealed that she kept the project secret because she has learned that things manifest better when kept close to the heart. She also credited her son and team for pulling together the marketing strategy.
She said:
"I left this country many years ago because of my children, and I will do it over and over again if I had to.
At this point, I think I have to apologise. I am so sorry I left you guys without letting you know. Mama duty called."
"I didn't tell people I was coming back. A lot of people didn't know I was shooting because I have learnt something: what you keep to your heart manifests better.
Thanks to my son and my team; they pulled the marketing strategy together."
