I Let My Ex-Husband Attend Our Daughter's Wedding To Break Ancestral Patterns – Iyabo Ojo

Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has opened up about why she allowed her ex-husband to attend their daughter Priscilla's wedding.

Speaking in an interview with Morayo Afolabi-Brown, she explained that her decision was driven by a desire to break ancestral patterns and ensure her children do not repeat the mistakes of past generations.

The actress said she believes in ancestral curses and that breaking them requires doing things differently. She noted that her own parents were not together, and she was determined to change that cycle for her children.

She also stated that her ex-husband is alive and did nothing wrong to their daughter, so excluding him from the celebration was unnecessary.

Recall that Priscilla Ojo and Tanzanian singer, Juma Jux, had several high-profile weddings to celebrate their love. The couple's wedding was a topic of interest on social media for several weeks, as the Grand finale eventually took place in Tanzania on May 28, 2025.

She said: "So I don't know there's something called ancestral curses, and we Africans believe it. I believe if you don't want something to continue, you have to be able to break it. I made up my mind that whatever situation had happened caused my dad, my mom, also, you know, were not together- yeah, every mistake they had made that I have made, my children will not make it.

"I have paid the price for her to succeed, for her to be happy in her marriage; her father is not dead; he's alive, so why can't he be there. He didn't wrong her; he and I fell out, and it has nothing to do with her."
