Insecurity: Davido And Northern Singer, Rarara Exchange Words

Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, and Northern singer Dauda Kahutu Rarara have been involved in a strong exchange of words on social media, over the insecurity plaguing Nigeria. The beef ignited when Rarara posted a video on social media, lambasting Davido over his recent comments on insecurity in Nigeria.

Recall that following the abduction of teachers and students in Oyo State last month, Davido during his musical performance ahead of the 2026 World Cup, donned a shirt featuring the Nigerian flag and the names of schoolchildren reportedly abducted in Oyo State.

In a post on his X handle on Wednesday, June 17, the Afrobeats star further clamoured on Nigerians not to stay silent amid the rise of insecurity.

"Damn it, every Nigerian should not stay silent about the insecurity plaguing the nation, nor should they prevent others from voicing their concerns openly. Showing bias and prioritising personal or political interests, and putting personal desires above the community’s goals, is nothing to be proud of. Be a patriot for your country, stop prioritising politics over the truth, and fear God in everything you do.”

Some hours later, thr singer made a shady tweet directed at Rarara in Hausa, "Da ace kana da ilimi da na tsaya nayi magana dakai. Amma komai baka sani ba, sakarai kawai.”

The meaning of the tweet is, “If you had any knowledge, I would have taken the time to argue with you. But you know absolutely nothing; you’re just a fool.”

Hitting back at the singer, Rarara took to the comment section, to warn the singer in Hausa.

“Ka shiga taitayinka." The post is translated as "You should be careful.”
