Celebrities Are Humans Like You – Nasboi Defends Celebrities' Decision To Stay Silent On Political Matters

Nigerian skitmaker and singer Nasiru Lawal, popularly known as Nasboi, has appealed to netizens and Nigerians at large to take it easy on celebrities who have decided not to lend their voice to the calls for improved leadership.

In a recent tweet on his X handle, the 'Umbrella' crooner pointed out how skitmaker Mr Macaroni who consistently spoke for Nigerians was harassed, yet still faced public ridicule from the same public he tried to defend.

According to Nasboi, not all celebrities have the courage to speak up, emphasizing that celebrities are also humans and the same way some individuals have refused to comment on political matters— the same applies to some celebrities.

He wrote: "People wey get sense, make we reason this matter. Una dey always drag celebrities for not speaking up, but make I remind una of Mr Macaroni. See how dem maltreat am just because he spoke up for everybody. Yet na still people mock am and insult am. You think say other celebrities no dey see all those things

“No be everybody get mind to talk. You have to accept that. And make we no forget, just like some of una no dey interested in politics, na so some celebrities no like to involve politically. Celebrities are humans like you."
