Men Who Commit Suicide Are Weak – Yul Edochie
Controversial Nigerian actor Yul Edochie has weighed in on the societal expectations placed on men, focusing on the emotional neglect men suffer in the process.
Speaking in a recent episode of the Honest Bunch Podcast, Edochie maintained that the society have placed so much standards on men, thereby expecting men to handle their problems without pity.
According to him, men are naturally expected to keep moving and pushing no matter what happens. Yul further labelled men who commit suicide as "weak."
He wrote: "Pity doesn’t work for men. It works for women and children only. Nobody has time to pity a man. Thats why it pa!ned me when I saw that our guy( Roby Ekpo) sitting in this chair and cry!ng, why would you even be cry!ng? Anything that happens to a man, you need to stand up and keep moving. Men who commit suicide are weak."
