I'm Grateful I Got To Meet You In This Lifetime – BBNaija Pere Egbi Pens Emotional Tribute To Late Alexx Ekubo 

Former Big Brother Naija star and actor Pere Egbi has penned an emotional tribute to his late colleague, Alexx Ekubo.

The Nigerian Voice recalls that the actor gave up the ghost on May 11, at the age of 40, following a battle with cancer.

According to reports, he battled stage four liver cancer in 2024 and underwent a transplant; however, in 2026, the liver failed again, and he died from complications hours after being placed on life support.

In a recent post on the popular microblogging platform, X (formerly known as Twitter), Pere noted how despite the number of days since the deceased's death, the pain still lingers.

He further expressed gratitude for meeting the actor during his lifetime, praising him for his immeasurable impact in the movie industry.

Pere Egbi also prayed for strength for his loved ones to cope with the late actor's demise.

He wrote: "Dear Alex Ekubo, It’s been days since you left this earth, yet the pain still feels heavy. You left a hole in the hearts of many, and words will never be enough to describe the loss.

But what can we do? We release you back to the One who created you and everything in it. I pray that everyone you left behind finds the strength to hold on during this trying time.

I’m grateful I got to meet you in this lifetime. You were my brother for life. The impact you left in the movie industry is immeasurable, and as an actor, I pray to leave that kind of impact someday too.

Rest on, Champion. You conquered life."
