everything Promised Was Not Fulfilled - Actor Lanre Adediwura Opens Up On Financial Constraints After 'wura' Series
Nollywood actor Lanre Adediwura, has made a shocking revelation regarding his participation in the widely acclaimed Multichoice series 'Wura' stating that it financially handicapped him.
Speaking in a recent interview on TVC entertainment, the actor disclosed that he battled financial constraints after filming the movie, claiming that he spent more than he earned. He further revealed that he became extremely financially handicapped, and his only saving grace was YouTube movies.
Adediwura admitted the visibility gained pfrom the 'Wura' series; he, however maintained that not every agreement was honoured.
According to him, the 11-month period of filming the series hindered him from taking other jobs, based on the contractual agreement, hereby limiting his workflow and finances.
He also shared how he was unable to play the assigned role of Aláàfin Abiodun in the blockbuster movie 'House of Gaá.'
“I came out of ‘Wura’, and I was spending more than I made. I came out poorer. For six months after ‘Wura’, I could have practically gone to a neighbour for Garri. It was YouTube that got me the stability.
“The role gave me everything I wanted, yes, maybe the production itself did not give me what I wanted because everything promised was not fulfilled. This is the first time anyone has heard this from me.
“The role deprived me of other things I could have done. When I was negotiating, they told me I should not worry about going to other productions. Throughout the 11 months of shooting, I could not go out for any production.
“The worst of them is ‘House of Gaa’. BAP reached out and I did the translation for House of Gaa from English to Yorùbá. I was supposed to play Aláàfin Abiodun."
