“I Funded Her US Life for Six Years, Then Found She Had Secretly Remarried” – Roby Ekpo Opens Up On Crashed Marriage To Mayowa Lambe
Media personality Roby Ekpo has made a jarring revelation about his marriage to his ex-wife, Mayowa Lambe, noting how it took him time before discovering his wife’s remarriage in the United States.
Speaking in a recent interview on the Honest Bunch podcast, an emotional Ekpo stated that while he suspected that all was not well in his marriage, he confirmed the extent after coming across his wife’s text, where she bemoaned a lack of care, sex, financial support, and several emotional issues.
Visibly pained while reading his wife’s text aloud, the OAP shared how coming across the message shattered him, noting that he had been putting in efforts to keep their marriage, including undergoing sperm tests in order to improve his fertility.
He further claimed that his wife also deceived him by stating that she went to the US to work on their fertility issues; however, he found out that it was all a lie. He added that during the six years of her visits to the US, he ensured he funded her lifeclass, unaware that it was all a ploy on her part.
Sharing further, he revealed that following her last visit to the US, he did not set his eyes on her until 2021. Yet, despite her arrival, he confirmed that there was no longer any form of affection or emotional connection between them.
According to him, trying to decipher what was wrong in their relationship clouded his mind due to the lack of emotional connection.
He further mentioned that he eventually found out that his wife was living abroad with a male flatmate, which made him suspicious, but he let it go; however, he later discovered that something was going on.
Revealing what broke the camel’s back, he shared that discovering his wife’s secret marriage in Texas made reality dawn on him and marked the end of their union.
His wife's message read: “I don’t even care if he loves me or not because what can love do for me besides stress me? He isn’t taking care of me as a man should. He isn’t satisfying me sexually. He isn’t helping my spiritual life. He isn’t spoiling me. He isn’t anything good… I have been coping with unsatisfying sex for almost three years.”
Roby Ekpo said in the emotional interview: “I’m 48 years old. I don’t have a kid… I started going for sperm tests.”
“For six years she travelled, and I was sending money every time. I have receipts here. I would do a gig of ₦500,000 and send ₦200,000. I was even sending flowers; friends in the US helped me deliver them to her.”
“Since 2021, I did not see her again until last year when I sent her money to come back to Nigeria. I went to the airport with two cars to welcome her. I couldn’t even get a hug from her. We got home and she didn’t kiss me, she didn’t hug me. I slept in the living room for two days.”
“But I later found out that the person she said was just a flatmate was actually involved with her.”
“She got a house and got a male flatmate… I was not comfortable with it, but I let it slide.”
“Ten years of my life… it pains me.”
Roby Ekpo and Mayowa Lambe tied the knot in November 2015, and while their marriage had been private, reports surfaced in April 2026 of Mayowa's alleged remarriage in the United States.
Roby Ekpo, however, failed to address it, urging the public to let it be, while wishing Mayowa a happy third marriage.
