Singer J Martins Reacts To Peter Okoye's Decision To Change His Birthday
Nigerian singer and songwriter J Martins, has expressed his disappointment with the announcement of singer Peter Okoye, also know as Mr P's decision to change his birthday.
Recall that The Nigerian Voice reported that Mr P, in a now trending post on the popular microblogging platform, X (formerly known as Twitter), announced that his birthday is no longer on November 18, maintaining that he will not accept any messages or gifts on that day.
According to him, the new birthday has now been changed to November 30th, describing it as a personal decision.
Following the numerous criticisms and backlash that trailed his announcement, Mr P, via his X handle wondered the reason behind the outrage, noting how it was his date of birth he changed and not theirs.
He further slammed them for crying more than the bereaved, knocking them for focusing on him, despite the numerous problems facing Nigeria.
Reacting to Peter Okoye's announcement, J Martins noted how both brothers, Peter and Paul Okoye have been his brothers for over two decades, expressing surprise at the sudden decision of Peter to change his date of birth.
He urged both parties to come together and allow the issue to be fixed behind closed doors, and avoid bringing disgrace to Igbos.
He wrote: "These are my brothers for more than two decades, I still don’t understand why one will just wake up decades to change his own birthday separate from his twin brother?
@PeterPsquare @rudeboypsquare can we fix this stuff inside our house & not bring this shame on Ndi Igbo nke anyi."
