I Reacted From A Place Of Hurt – Actress Lilian Afegbai Tenders Heartfelt Apology To AMVCA, Following Call-out

Nollywood actress Lilian Afegbai, has made a u-turn of her widespread call-out of the organizers of the 12th Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA).

Recall that The Nigerian Voice reported that Lilian Afegbai reacted to her omission from the nomination from the category of the Best Supporting Actress category, by taking to the popular microblogging platform, X(formerly known as Twitter) to slam the organizers for the intentional omission.

She further maintained that her nomination snub has no effect on her career, urging the organizers to keep their award

Making a u-turn, the actress expressed her sincere apology to the AMVCA organizers, acknowledging the disrespect.

Revealing on her disappointment with the omission, she stressed that it was not an excuse for her to act that way, promising to act better moving forward.

She wrote: "This apology should have come earlier, That tweet should not have happened. No excuse.

It was disrespectful to AMVCA, the nominees, my To Kill A Monkey family, and all of you who have supported me.

Honestly, I was disappointed. But that’s not an excuse for how I responded.

I’ve come a long way in my journey, and for a long time I felt invisible. To Kill A Monkey felt like my “now they see me” moment, and I held on to that very tightly. When I wasn’t nominated, I reacted from a place of hurt, entitlement and it was out of character for me. I was wrong and I am sorry.

Please give me a chance to be better. I no go fall una hand again.

Love, Forever your Lilly."
