Funke Akindele Opens Up On Relationship With People, Declaring Her Mental Health As Priority
Nollywood actress Funke Akindele, has shed light on her relationship with people, and the Issues surrounding it.
The box office queen while speaking on the Morayo Afolabi-Brown show, admitted that she loves a lot, including being real and open. She admitted that she is far from perfect, however, she is troublesome.
According to her, actor Uzee Usman enlightened her on how to handle her relationship with people, noting how he urged her to accept people for who they are, and she took his advice.
Akindele further emphasized the importance of relationships, however, her mental health is more important.
"I am not proud of that, and I am proud of it. There must be a balance.
I am an extremist, I love so hard, and I am real and open. I am not perfect, but I can be troublesome. My mother, when she was alive, would tell me that people can’t be like me, they can’t be as smart and fast as I am, and I should calm down.
"I thank God for someone like Uzee Usman in my life. There was a day he sat me down when I was complaining about people’s behaviour. He told me that I am a leader and I should accept people as they are.
For the first time, I sat down, and I was quiet. I left my food, almost in tears, because what he said was true. I told him I would try to manage.
"Human relationships for me are very important, and I am learning every day, but no matter what happens, my mental health is paramount."
Recall that The Nigerian Voice reported that during the premiere of Iyabo Ojo's 'The Return of Arinzo' on Sunday, March 29, a viral clip showcased Toyin Abraham coming in to greet her colleagues including Iyabo Ojo and Mercy Aigbe, who were seated on the same table with Funke Akindele; however, the box office queen blatantly ignored Toyin's greetings.
