I Want To Be Among The Policy Makers – Actor Olumide Oworu Explains Reason Behind Joining Politics 

Nollywood actor Olumide Oworu has explained the reason behind his decision to be involved in the Nigerian political scene.

The energetic actor, while speaking in an interview with Naija FM revealed that the declining state of the country, coupled with his plans of raising a family, influenced his decision to get involved in politics.

According to him, in order to be a part of the policies that would be made – joining politics was the best option.

He added that the current politicians are getting older, and the adverse effects of the policies being made would affect the younger generation which he is a part of.

He said: “I decided to join politics because of how the country is going. I know how Nigeria was when I was younger, but now, things keep getting worse. And I want to start a family and raise my kids here.

"So, I have to make sure that I try my best to be among the policymakers because whatever policy that is being enacted, it would ultimately, affect me like every other common person.

“And also, most of the present crops of politicians are aging out and whatever policy they are making today, it is me and my friends who will be at the receiving end tomorrow."
