It Is Piracy And Destruction Of Our Cultural Work – Tunde Kelani Slams Bloggers Over Unauthorized Posting Of Movie Clips

Nigerian filmmaker Tunde Kelani has expressed his disdain at the growing trend of bloggers posting the clip of movies without prior permission.

The veteran star on his Facebook page, shared a screenshot of a blogger who had been posting clips of some of his movies as reels on his page.

He condemned the act, naming about three of his movies which the blogger had transformed into reels and posted them online without authorization.

Kelani maintained that such act is piracy and a destruction of cultural work, emphasizing that a film should not be put as fragments for illegal money making scheme.

Addressing bloggers and netizens involved in such acts, he urged them to quit the act and support creators by watching and sharing movies through the right channels.

He wrote: "Akanmu Ogo This is WRONG! Cutting our films—Saworoide, Agogo Eewo, Ti Oluwa Nile’ Tundernolt Magun—into unauthorized reels and posting them online is not promotion. It is piracy and the destruction of our cultural work.

A film is a complete story, not fragments for quick views to make quick money illegally. This is stealing openly.

Please stop this practice and wickedness! Support creators by watching and sharing films through the proper channels.

Let us protect, not diminish, our heritage. Stop this criminality.

TK."
