IK Osakioduwa Opens Up On Rejecting Alcohol, Tobacco Brands, Due To His Faith

Nigerian media personality IK Osakioduwa, has opened up on his career, and his rejection of deals with alcohol and tobacco brands.

The host of Nigerian Idol shared the insights while speaking in a candid interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo on a recent episode of WithChude.

According to him, the portrayal of himself in the public space is equated to a family-friendly brand, which is largely influenced by his relationship with God.

"How I choose to portray myself in the public space as a family-friendly brand, all of that comes from my relationship with God."

He maintained that money is not the leading factor, but "principle" guides every decision and deals he takes

"When you come closer to how we do business, you will find that we are never going to take money over principle."

IK further shared how he has rejected several brands and companies in the past, citing tobacco and alcohol brands in particular.

"There are companies that we don’t work for. For instance, we won’t work for a tobacco brand. You won’t see us hosting alcohol brands or tobacco brands."

He explained that his decision to reject the offers and advances of these companies, despite the lucrative offers is down to his faith. He explained that these companies offer higher amounts than other brands, however, he is not willing to compromise his standards.

“Those choices are deliberate, I mean, we have lost a lot of money to it. That is where the money is. They make the most money, and I am not judging anybody who does."

Osakioduwa also clarified that he is in no way criticizing those who accept such offers, stating that everyone's conviction is different.
