Let's Not Play With The Job - Uche Jombo Reacts To Criticisms Of On-screen Chemistry Between Actors

Nollywood actress, Uche Jombo, has weighed in on the ongoing criticism that has trailed the ongoing chemistry between Nollywood stars.

On her verified X page, Jombo, while addressing the critics of love scenes in movies, stated that they are not actually fun to film.

According to her, it is quite different from the way others see it. She stressed that although acting is a play, others should not play with the job.

She wrote: "Love scenes in films are not fun to film.. Not the way you guys think. I know this job is play, but let’s not play with the job."

Uche Jombo's tweet stems from the criticism of Bolaji Ogunmola and Daniel Etim-Effiong on-screen chemistry in movies.

It all began as Bolaji Ogunmola, was called out by an X user, who criticized her role in her new movie 'The Bloom After,' questioning the reason she only shared a kiss with Daniel Etim-Effiong and not the other actor, Anthony. The critic also warned her to tone down her on-screen chemistry, citing Yul Edochie and Judy Austin as an example of such previous act.

Blowing hot over the tweet, Ogunmola labelled the critic as "an absolute retard," stating that tweeting stupidity was the individual's goal of seeing the movie.

Expressing her disdain, she stressed that her professionalism is being summed up to "kissing." Issuing a clarification, she emphasized that there are clear boundaries between her and her colleagues, noting how their conversation does not go past work.

She further reiterated that she was unbothered by opinions about her, however, she has not lost her dignity and self-respect, hence her strong boundaries with her colleagues.
